History of Kigali Christian School

est. 2006

The dream to start Kigali Christian School was formed by the realization that poor children were receiving very poor education in the very community that YFC-Rwanda was operating from and ministering in.  If YFC-Rwanda could offer a high quality Christ-centered education, then it realized that it could change the future of Rwanda in a positive way by offering hope to a generation resigned to poverty, training future leaders to be Godly, and modeling excellence in the field of education.

This dream became a reality when Kigali Christian School opened its doors for the first time in January 2006 with an enrollment of 140 students (three levels of nursery school, and primary grades one through three) and a staff of 13 teachers.  Currently in our 8th year, we have over 744 students in the nursery, primary, and secondary schools, and 46 staff.
